To create your own website, you can teach yourself HTML and CSS or use a web development tool. There is a learning curve for each method and both have many resources available to help you. The Web Development link above gives you access to useful tutorials. It is suggested that beginners start with HTML and CSS. More advanced students continue to learn about PHP and MYSQL.


Once you know HTML and CSS, plan your work.

  • Organize your thoughts and ideas.
  • Identify the content or information you want displayed on your website.
  • Identify the graphics and pictures you want to place on your website.
  • Identify links (such as contact-us, about-us, directions).
  • Identify color scheme for text and background.   Refer to the color chart under the web development link above or see the color hex identifer  HERE! 
  • Identify font style, size, background, and color. Refer to table below:
